Why should we eat a great quantity and assortment of fruits?
Different kinds of fruits and vegetables are rich in diverse nutrients. Some fruits are excellent sources of carotenoid, including those that produce vitamin A, while others can be rich in vitamin C, folacin or potassium.
Fruits and vegetables also contain fibres and other substances that can provide good health. Most fruits are naturally poor in fats and calories, they can be prepared quickly and eaten easily. It is better to choose a whole fruit or fruit cut into pieces rather than juices. In fact juices do not contain many fibres, or do not contain them at all.
